Open Again!

16th July 2020

We’re so delighted to be welcoming guests again. Here’s a quick note from one of last week’s guests:
“We had a lovely stay, such a lovely tent and surrounds!”

September is a great time to visit us. The crops have been harvested and there’s lots of field work to watch as the fields are prepared for next year’s harvest. The weather is often glorious too, with warm sunny days. In the evenings it’s a pleasure to snuggle down next to the woodburner if the temperature drops a little.

Well away from everyone else, with plenty of fresh air and very careful cleaning, it’s the perfect place to refresh safely after our COVID shutdown. Choose your September dates now!

Thinking of Booking?

30th April 2020

We will REFUND IN FULL any booking made from now on for the rest of 2020 that is unable to be taken due to Government restrictions.

We understand that people are really keen to get away and enjoy a break. At the same time everything is so uncertain at the moment I’m sure you would be worried about making a financial commitment: I certainly would be. That’s why you can book with us for the rest of the year secure in the knowledge that if you can’t come because of Government restrictions we will refund all your money.

COVID-19

6th April 2020

Like other glamping accommodation we are currently closed. We have contacted all guests booked before the end of May with an invitation to move their bookings. We are currently hopeful that we will be able to reopen in June but would suggest that no-one pays the balance on their holiday until the situation is clear.

We are, of course, open for bookings later this year and next year and look forward to welcoming you when movement restrictions are lifted.

Summer is here and we have availability

27th June 2019

Long grass waving by rope swing.
Yellowhammer seen from swing.

At last the sun is shining. It’s my favourite time of year on the glamping site. The grass is in seed and waving enticingly in the breeze. The flowers are blooming and the countryside is green and lush. Add that to the sheer relaxation of sitting on the deck or by the BBQ and drinking in the view and I never want to leave!

Here’s what one of our recent guests (who didn’t want to leave either) wrote in our visitors book:

We still have slots available over the summer holidays, so take a look on our availability tab and book yourself a treat. The great outdoors is there waiting for you to explore and enjoy.

Night in the tent

6th May 2019

Hugh and I spent last Saturday night in Yellowhammer. It was a real treat. A gaudy cock pheasant strutted past the window, we enjoyed the sunset from the decking and then after a cosy evening with friends there was a clear night and we could appreciate the stars. With no light pollution it was an impressive sight. We then went to sleep listening to owls hooting in the wood and woke up to a couple of hares beside the tent. Talk about getting away from it all!

Spring is on the way!

31st January 2019

Yes really! Despite the current chill spring will be here in just a month or two. It’s definitely time to be thinking ahead and planning a relaxing break in the countryside. Easter holiday bookings are filling up fast, so check now and reserve your slot. We are open from mid-March.

Come and enjoy the ‘mad March hares’, the exhilarating views and cosy log burners. Once you arrive you won’t want to leave – read our reviews and see what other guests have said.

March and April are the months for enjoying invigorating weather and roaring fires. The evenings are long enough for leisurely board games, the days are warm enough for longer walks. Relish the first signs of spring and the increasing warmth of the sun. Relax in your own tent far away from the hassle of normal life. Book now to reserve your slice of peace!

As good as it gets.

8th August 2018

This review seems to sum up what we offer our guests:

‘If you want glamping with the most glorious views and to feel like you have the hills to yourselves then look no further. The beds are super comfy and you have everything you need for glamping. So pour yourself a gin and tonic, sit out on the veranda and watch the sun go down. Magic.’

Come and try it for yourself.

Special Offer for Easter Holidays

29th March 2018

Grab a break during the Easter Holidays – we’re offering a special offer discount of 20%. The Beast from the East is going to miss us, so it’s the perfect time to snuggle in, enjoy the views and relax during the Easter Holidays. Check out our offer on the Availability tab. A weekend break is now £500 and a 4 night midweek stay £444.

The cosy safari tents provide just the place for families to spend unpressured time together. Roam the spectacular South Downs, hunker down and play Monopoly or venture further afield to the Science Centre or Portsmouth Naval Dockyard. The tents are spick and span after their spring spruce up. The leaves are just beginning to appear on the hawthorn. Two Lapwings have been spotted in a neighbouring field. Spring is definitely on the way, and for me glamping is the perfect way to enjoy it.
